This is Osekkai's original amber sugar developed in collaboration between food designer Ai Horikawa and Kyoto confectionery craftsman Wataru Kanaya.
SORA AI / Sora Ai: The state of the sky. Sky pattern. The course of events.
We expressed the changing sky patterns at different times of the day using amber sugar, a traditional Japanese confection made from sugar and agar.
5:00: Dawn, the gentle whitening of the sky
9:00: Early morning, soft clouds floating in a clear blue sky
18:00: Dusk, the sun setting and slowly melting into darkness
23:00: Midnight, stars twinkling in the night sky with the Milky Way (or deep indigo sky)
The beautiful colors vary by product and are extracted from natural ingredients without artificial coloring. Of course, each also has its own distinctive flavor.
The outside is crisp, and the inside is soft like agar jelly, making the texture contrast enjoyable.
The simple yet warm packaging evokes the scene of looking up at the sky through a window from indoors.
Collecting is also fun with four different rooms and sky colors.
Recommended as a gift for someone special.
*Please note
Amber sugar is a Japanese confection characterized by a crisp exterior and a jiggly interior texture.
By making the crystal layer on the outside as thin as possible, it achieves a lighter and more delicate mouthfeel.
Because of this, it is very fragile. We take maximum precautions when shipping, butdue to its nature, it may crack during delivery.
We hope you can enjoy this fragility as part of the charm of amber sugar.
